About the tour

The Lares Trek is an alternative road to Machu Picchu for 4 days and 3 nights, which runs through high Andean landscapes inhabited by Quechua peoples. This adventure tour is also known as the Weavers Circuit because during its journey, you learn the technique of ancestral yarn in the native villages.

Day 01: Cusco - Calca - Lares Thermal Baths - Huacawasi

We start the tour with pick-up from the reception of your hotel at 5 am (this time may be subject to change or modification), then go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, specifically to the thermal baths of Lares. In this place we will have free time to relax in the hot springs then have lunch, and finally start the 4 hours walking until we reach our first camp.

Day 02: Huacawasi - Ipsaycocha - Patacancha

After an exquisite breakfast we will continue our walk to the community of Huacawasi, a well known place for the production of fine fabrics. Here we can observe their skills and techniques in the manufacture of different garments.

Then we will begin to ascend until the second step Abra de Condorpasa (4100msnm). From this point we will be able to observe the snow-covered of La Verónica 5750 msnm. We will descend approximately for 1 hour until we reach the beautiful lagoon of Ipsaycocha and from there to the community of Patacancha.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Patacancha - Wylloc - Pumamarka - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

After breakfast we will descend through the valley until we reach the community of Willoc; place where we will have lunch, from here we will walk for 2 hours approx. until arriving at the community of Pumamarka where we can appreciate the Inca terraces and finally we will arrive at Ollantaytambo located in a fertile valley and protected by huge mountains.

Then we will go to the Ollantaytambo station where we will board the train which will take us to Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu).

Day 04: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel we will leave very early to take the first bus to the Inca citadel of Machupicchu.

Once arrived at the entrance of the old Citadel, our guide will provide a tour of two hours; You will visit the urban and agricultural area as well as the turrets, ceremonial plazas, the sacred fountain, the Intihuatana or solar clock and terraces from where you can contemplate the domains of the Inca.

You will also have time to explore Machu Picchu for yourself, taking care of the edges of the buildings and enjoy the beauty of the landscape and take pictures,

After our tour in Machu Picchu, we will board the return bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, and have time for lunch and then show up 30 minutes earlier at the station to board the train back to Cusco.

At the final station we will pick you up to take you to your hotel.
