You will be picked up from your hotel in Puno between 6:45 am to 7:00 am to go to the port of Lake Titicaca, where we will board the motor boat that will take us on this excursion.
The first place to visit will be the UROS FLOATING ISLANDS. In this place we can appreciate small local communities and families that live in the islands built on the basis of the Totora, an aquatic herbaceous plant that grows on the surface of Lake Titicaca.
You will be able to appreciate all the works of the inhabitants made from totora such as: houses, handicrafts and even totora boats that are used for their fishing activities and as a means of transport. You can also take a walk in them. Our guide will explain about the lifestyle of the UROS people. Then, we will travel by boat for about two hours to reach the Taquile Island, famous for the production of textiles, which show in their symbolism their worldview, way of life and different customs and beliefs of the place.
In Taquile you will walk along a narrow road enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca. Once inside the town you will have free time to walk and learn more about the customs and visit the different workshops where they produce their fabrics. At lunch time we meet for lunch at the home of a local family and taste typical food.
After the guided tour, the boat will take us back to the port of the city of Puno, which we will arrive around 17:00 hrs, the tour ends with the transfer to your hotel in the city.
